Native Cincinnatian, Betty Ann Smiddy, formerly president of the College Hill Historical Society, has received outstanding achievement awards in local history from the Ohio Historical Society and the Hamilton County Recorder’s Office. Her award-winning newsletters for CHHS culminated in A Little Piece of Paradise . . . College Hill, Ohio (2nd Edition). Check out Betty's A Short History of Mt. Auburn.
Betty has recently written two books for Arcadia Publishing: Cincinnati's Golden Age and Cincinnati's Great Disasters. You can order directly from Arcadia. All royalties from the sale of the books are donated. Cincinnati's Great Disasters directly benefits the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County's Library Foundation.
Betty was a Cincinnati Enquirer Woman of the Year in 1992 and has been given a key to the City of Cincinnati for her volunteer activities.
